ATTEN Devs: Dredging the depths
Okay, I'm sure most have faced the lower level gauntlet, if you goof even a lil you have minions like crazy after you and they wipe your group easily. BUT, after a few wipes there were (no exaggeration either) at least 75 minions, chasing us like we owed them money. Waiting makes no difference, they don't die, they just live on like npc's. That coupled with rubber banding like crazy, but with a twist. I tried to salvage something while waiting, and every time I tried I got a network error, and guess what? When I get back in all the previously killed mobs are back. Auras gaze (or whatever it's called) doesn't work as they trigger their own right away and undo yours, with no cool down. And no there wasn't a bunch of gnashers, there was 1 maybe 2. Which we targeted first and nailed as well as the healers.
Ummm can you say broken code? I'm not trying to just whine, this all sounds like it's really broken and could get a lot worse.

There is more then one necro in the group so there are more minions. Just get a good tank and some Rojers.

I went back, with 2/mm's (it made me smile to see the dwarves overrun this time), and a smiting monk. I did ok, got to Zoldark... POWER WENT OUT!
*cries*
Only good thing was getting a superior vigor rune (+50 health) from a locked chest.
Rubber banding, lag etc.. was REALLY bad though. They might need to reboot that server.
Oh btw, the respawns I was talking about where dwarves, not the undead near Zoldark.

I was unaware that there was servers for different areas of the game, is this true? Little bit off topic but that's a new one for me.

If you want to stop failed attempts at Vlox dungeon, you need to understand what skills the enemy is using. For example, since the enemies are raising minions, you have a few options:
1) Exploit the corpses before they are used. This is fairly straight-forward with a host of death, blood and curse skills such as wells, corpse explosion and so on. This should dish out some damage or create an unfavorable environment for the summits to fight in, increasing your chances of success.
2) Capture the minions when they rush towards to your team. Skill: Veratas Aura (death magic). You should be able to capture all minions (many lvl 20+) to your necro for 3-5 minutes which is sufficient for the battle to end.
3) Raise minions faster than them. This requires using corpse exploitation insignias on armor (check rune trader), and using 40/40 death wand/offhand, or a suitable green staff such as Nightbringer.
4) Destroy whatever fails 1-3, using suitable Holy based skills such Ray of Judgment (RoJ) and others from the smiting line.
So, please stop complaining and learn to adapt. Using the same bar in each area either for you or your heroes under changing challenging environments is sure to end in failure.

I posted to say there are some coding problems. Please read before you criticize. I'm a programmer myself of some 25 years (gad) and I know problems when I see them. If you bothered to read and didn't try to sound elite, you'd see I went back and got past that part no problem.
For the record, I have 3 other toons with all missions etc, finished. I levelled my necro in 15 hours to 20, and finished Eye in a lil over a month playing casually. I'm no noob, and earned my titles (protector in all 3 campaigns) BEFORE normal/hard mode, when you either knew what you were doing or quit.

Where is that ROFL smiley icon when you need it?
There may be some glitchy stuff in here, but I doubt all of those unrelated factors are all glitches. It's hard to separate the technical problems here from you wanting to blame everything else but an undeservingly large ego.
I mean none of the dwarves even have Verta's anything. But if you're using Verta's Aura, they do have plenty of enchant removal.

I wouldn't say it's faulty code, but most definitely broken mechanics. In some areas the stupidity of doubling attributes for bosses and doubling attributes for HM is less appallingly obvious, in others, disturbingly clear. This is the latter.

I've had EotN since it came out and I haven't beaten it. I have no interest in beating it - I just got the skills and heroes I wanted and went back to playing the areas I enjoy.

Verata's Aura specced at 5 DM wipes large minion armies, but an even better option is Wail of Doom. Hit one of the Summoners with WoD while he's animating, and Boom, all his minions die.

Dumb replies, he is not asking for your "help" how to do vloxen. He is describing a bug (and please stop giving bad advices).
I run vloxen occasionally and I can confirm the teleporting/rubberbanding summits on second floor. NOT a "typical" network issue, only a certain mob is doing it at a time, and I saw minions, regular minions, not the fleshy Zoldark minions not degening at all. It happens, but rarely and the effect is not permanent. I have never seen the huge minion army though. Each gnasher can maintain a maximum of 12 minions (they have higher cap), so if you agro two patrols (each has 2 MMs) that's 48 minions? You should have taken a screenshot.

This. If I see any more silly posts, they're getting deleted. This isn't a thread to laugh at someone for not finishing EOTN.

bunch of tanking, bunch of seeding, bunch of AoE damage, and I got it done on my warrior. It's rough, but doable. cornerblocking is your friend. When they run after your backline but get balled up on your "tank"(who, by the way, should be just a regular warrior with sentinel's insig and a +10 vs earth shield, no special skills for tanking), they're ripe for your nukers to rip apart. Then your warrior tank has hundred blades and whirlwind attack, ebon battle standard of honor, and it's even better.
That was my strategy. There's always different ways of doing it but it all comes down to massive Area of Effect damage.
As for the "bug"...I doubt it was 75 minions. Also, Anet has shown us that the "caps" and restrictions on what you can do with minions and spirits has no bearing on what the AI can do. It's not just Gnashers that create minions, the summoners do too. You can have 10 gnashers and 10 summoners all with jagged bones and a 40 minion army created PDQ. If each necro has more than 10 minions, and that's a bug that should be fixed, the multiple instances of spirits that don't die in the various dungeons (selvetarm much? I've seen three Pains in one spot right outside the boss's door. Unfair bending of the rules to supplement an increase in "difficulty) should also be reported and fixed.
Verata's gaze needs to be used twice to turn a minion into an allied minion. Just because one gaze works once, doesn't mean the minion will turn green and friendly, it becomes neutral. Aura is better because it turns all the minions affected into allies, then when the dwarves strip the enchant, they turn neutral and attack everyone.
Oh, and they rez. So the mobs that were "already killed" coming back isn't a bug, they were just resurrected.

Gnashers have 20 Death Magic in HM, so they can have 12 minions btw. But still, I wasn't up against that many minions when I did it.
But what I always do is kill the healer first and then the Gnashers... So they won't make as many minions, so yeah. You could just have some bad spawns or have overpulled or something.

I appreciate your post greatly. I did not want advice, or wish to complain and whine (as stated), I think people are so used to complaints they just skim and react, instead of reading.
Personally I love GW, I have played off and on for several years. I have played SWG from pre cu to the nge, Lotro from open beta to M.O.M., I even tried W.O.W. and I always find my way back to GW. It has breath taking graphics, a very compelling storyline, and generally a higher caliber of players in game. Not as many yoyos as others.
